Coffee Makers and Organic Coffee

Had a visit to my favourite coffee shop - Di Bella in Bowen Hills today. Actually they are coffee roasters and distributors and retailers of all things coffee.  http://dibellacoffee.com.au/

I'm very fortunate to live only 5 minutes away. I wanted to check out their single origin coffee today for my Bulletproof coffee which is generally my breakfast.

I discovered they keep the wonderful Aeoropress for proper brewing temperature, total immersion brewing and  rapid mico-filtering -all the keys to coffee flavour excellence. The revolutionary Aeoribie AeroPress (TM)  coffee and espresso maker is designed to optimise these factors. The result is the smoothest, richest coffee you've ever tasted..

They have great tasting organic coffee as well for your BulletProof coffee.

Fermented Foods - History | Spirit of Health

Fermented Foods - History | Spirit of Health

Great info on fermented foods. You don't need to add much cultured food to your diet to improve your digestion and consequently, your overall health.  One thing that many do not realise is that fermented foods are some of the best chelators available. The beneficial bacteria in these foods are very potent detoxifiers, capable of drawing out a wide range of toxins and heavy metals. Really anything equal to a teaspoonful at each meal will do the trick. Some simple ways of adding these foods are

  • Natto (available from Asian stores generally in freezer area) Do throw away the sachets as they contain all the nasties
  • Kombucha
  • Miso (use as warm drink or add to soups or stir fries)
  • Home made or purchase raw sauerkraut (in Brisbane purchase PEACE, LOVE AND VEGETABLES from health food stores or Northey St Markets)
  • Yogurt (using either raw, grass-fed milk, or store-bought organic, full fat milk if you cannot find raw milk) and whey and buttermilk (not commercial)

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups blanched almond or any nut flour
  • 2 Tbsp. coconut flour
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil or grass-fed butter (Westgold from Woolworths)
  • 2 eggs, pasture-raised
  • 1/2 teasp vanilla extract

OPTIONAL  INGREDIENTS (add up to 1 cup in total)

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, walnuts, macadamias, or other nuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped prunes or dates
  • 2-3 Tbsp. cacao nibs, chia seeds, sesame seeds, or other small seeds

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C
  2. Cream the eggs, honey, and coconut oil or butter.
  3. Add in the remaining ingredients and mix everything together well.
  4. Drop teaspoon size balls of dough onto a greased or bake paper-lined baking sheet. They don’t spread much, so you can space them closely.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 10-15 minutes, or until the tops are just barely tinged with brown.
